Who really believes in prayer? Evidently not the church as the judge ruled. I remember when I was in Baraboo a new night club was opened in a town that was very much against the activities they were promoting.
The church staged an all night prayer meeting and prayed that God would burn the place down. During the night it began to thunder and lightning and it struck the night club and it burned to the ground.
As I remember it the night club had got wind of their all night prayer meeting and decided to sue them. After hearing both sides the judge was making a ruling and both sides lost. The judge said that the night club believes in prayer while the church does not. I didn't think about that until today and I thought that was a sad commentary because the church prayed and their pray was answered but they didn't believe it was their prayer that did it. The night club felt that it was because of their all night prayer meeting that lightning struck and burned their night club down.
So who really believes in prayer?
