Dear Pastor Sam Column

Dear Pastor Sam,

I want to ask you a question about something I saw at church. I really don’t think that what I saw is right and I don’t know what to do about it. The person who was doing it is a very important person in the church and I feel that maybe they think nobody will question what they do. What should I do?

Just Wondering

Dear Just Wondering,

First if you think they have done something wrong you ought to confront them. Tell them that you think what they have done is wrong and allow them the opportunity to do the right thing and get it right. Then if they don’t you can talk with your Pastor. Usually the next step it to confront them before two or three witnesses. Your Pastor can advise you on how to do this.
