Pay It Forward

I am not sure how many are familiar with the “Pay It Forward” concept but I would like to post some comments on this idea.

I read about a pizza joint that put this practice to the test. They encouraged their customers to buy a second piece of pizza and they would take a sticky note and post it on their bulletin board. The sticky note would entitle the bearer a piece of pizza.

The pizza place found that many of their customers were eager to “Pay It Forward” and make it possible for someone down on their luck or in many cases homeless; to have a piece of pizza. A very interesting thing happened because of this program. Crime dropped in the area and many folks were able to take advantage of this program. People didn’t just come and try to get a free piece of pizza they wanted to put their note on the board to “Pay It Forward”.

I don’t know how many of you have ever been down on your luck or maybe things are going extra good for you. You might want to do something for someone else in an effort to “Pay It Forward” for what someone did for you.

I have been in both positions and I have been down on my luck and someone stepped in and did something nice for me. I call it being blessed by God but it is about the same thing. I have then done something for someone else and I always find that God blesses we do this.

If you are treated special when you are down and you don’t “Pay It Forward” I promise you that you will regret it. But I have to say I have never regretted when I “Pay It Forward”. If you want the blessing of God I suggest you give it a try. I promise you won’t regret it and your blessing will be much more than you expect. It is more blessed to give than to receive is so very true.
