Dear Pastor Sam Column
Dear Pastor Sam,
Do you think it is proper for a Pastor to tell you who to vote for? Isn’t that against the law for the Pastor to push his members to vote for a certain candidate?
My husband and I want to vote for Trump because he has done more for us than any of these useless Democrat candidates that are running. Our Pastor is pushing Biden who we feel is useless.
I Have My Own Ideas
Dear I Have My Own Ideas,
Usually when a Pastor encourages his members on who to vote for he is giving them advice as an individual not as the Pastor of the church. The church cannot endorse a candidate but the Pastor as an individual can make suggestions. The final choice is up to you. I have recommended to people who I think is the best candidate only when they have asked me. My recommendation is only made from what I believe the Bible teaches.
You need to think for yourself and make that choice. Your Pastor isn’t going in the voting booth with you. You can seek his advice but the final choice is yours.
