Dear Pastor Sam
Dear Pastor Sam,
I wasn’t going to write because I was sure you would know who I am and I really don’t want you to know who I am. I have been reading your blog for over a year and I just had to let you know you have been a blessing to me. Many times something you have said was a real help to me. Thanks for not giving up.
I lived in Lake Village, Indiana and I am sure you know who I am but if you do please don’t say anything. I went to North Newton High School with you. I admired you and your character to do the right thing over the years. I was jealous of you and Cindy and I had a crush on you but I would never have done anything to come between you and her.
When your Dad resigned and you moved I lost touch with you and I looked you up when the internet was first developed and I read in the paper about your becoming a Pastor in Wisconsin. I lost touch after that for many years and I was doing a random search and I found your blog about a year ago. I was hesitant about writing but I thought I would write.
I don’t attend the Village Baptist Church anymore and I have lost touch with many of the people I knew there. I live in Mount Ayr, Indiana now. Just wanted to let you know that there are people out hear that know you and keep up on what you are doing.
A Friend from the Past
Thanks for writing and I really appreciate it. I don’t know who you are so don’t worry. I had a few guesses but I am not really sure. I had several hits on my blog from Rensselaer and I was wondering who it might be.
Thanks for writing it was nice of you to do so. Feel free to write at any time. Just for the record I don’t print any names on my Dear Pastor Sam column. Keep reading and do keep in touch.
If you would like to write Pastor Sam you can do so by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and asking your question. Please note this is a new email and only letters sent to this email will be published. Please note do not sign your name. Letters will be published in this blog so you will NOT get a personal answer
