Dear Pastor Sam

Dear Pastor Sam,

I am a regular reader of your column and I enjoy the letters that come in.

I am also one of your friends on your Facebook page and I trust you when you say you won’t post any real names on your column.

I am writing because not only do I read your column every week but I read your blog regularly as well.

Some weeks back you posted a story about your retirement.  I was not a member of your church but I was shocked when I heard that you retired.  I want to apologize for not keeping in contact with you like I should.  I kept you on my Facebook friends and read your post and I knew what was happening with you but you didn’t know how I felt.

I just want to say that I miss your presence and I do care about you and Kelly.  I am sorry for not staying in touch and I want you to know I care.

Thanks for the time you spent in our association.  You were a blessing to many folks and many of them will never say anything about it.  I am letting you know that there are many folks that care about you and Kelly.

Keeping doing what you are doing as we are still being blessed.

I Still Care and I Am Still Your Friend

Dear Friend,

Thank you so very much for your letter.  The day I wrote that post I was a bit discouraged and down.  Many posted on my Facebook and I was out of my discouragement before the day was over.  I thank God for people like you.  You make serving a blessing.  Please keep in touch.  You know my number it hasn’t changed if you want to call.
