Five Shocking Things Found In The Bible

The Bible is a great book filled with many great and wonderful things. However, the Bible is also a book filled with horrors. In my mind, perhaps the greatest horrors in the Bible have to do with Hell. Today I want to share “Five Shocking Things In The Bible”. They are shocking because they might happen to you or to someone you know. The intent of this blog is to communicate to the heart and not just to the head. Let the Lord speak to your heart today as I share these shocking things.

The first shocking thing is that there is a place called Hell. When you search the Bible you find that it is a place where you are totally conscious, a place where you are tormented, a place that is very dark, a place where there is eternal separation, a place where there is memory and regret, and a place of intense misery. Just thinking about each of these things about Hell is very shocking but true as we search the Bible about Hell.

The second shocking thing in the Bible is that there is a population in Hell. Just think about this fact: there will be more in Hell than in Heaven. “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.” Isaiah 4:14 KJV

The third shocking in the Bible is that there is a paradox in Hell. That paradox is that many who expect to make it to Heaven will actually wind up in Hell. The rich man in the Bible didn’t expect he would end of in Hell but when he died he found himself in that terrible place.

The fourth shocking thing in the Bible is that there is a problem with Hell. That problem is that you could be there today. We don’t know when Christ will return and we also don’t know when our last day is upon this earth. It is foolish to take chances and gamble and not repent.

The fifth and last shocking thing in the Bible is that there is permanence to Hell. Hell is for all eternity. Hell is not for a few hours or weeks it is forever. So if I didn’t know for sure I was going to Heaven I think now would be a good time to make sure that I am headed that way.

Hope you will truly think about these five shocking things in the Bible and prepare for the future.
