I know Christmas is over but I was thinking about the season and I was wondering how many people over extended themselves this Christmas. I know you aren’t going to tell me but I just wanted to comment on this issue.
We go out and buy gifts for people we don’t like (not all of them) and we spend money we don’t have to impress people who don’t care. So explain to me how that works? I understand we buy some gifts for people we love and care about but I don’t get this “I want to impress them” so we try to outdo each other and nobody is impressed and it starts all over the next year.
I am at the point now that I don’t have to impress anyone and nobody needs to impress me because I am just not jumping on that bandwagon.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and they were talking about all the gifts they buy for every Tom, Dick, and Harry (no pun intended). After they get all the gifts they feel like they have been but through a meat grinder and nobody seems to appreciate anything they have done. Do you know what I am saying?
I don’t know about you but the gifts I got from my grandkids from the Dollar Store took on a greater meaning than some of the expensive stuff I got. The grandkids were giving through the heart. One item I got was a screwdriver. My granddaughter said to me, “Papaw you are always looking for a screwdriver so I thought I would help.” That was very sweet as far as I am concerned. It came straight from the heart. Not taking away from the other gifts I got but they just make my heart pound.
Well, I know you might not want to let me know what you think and that is okay. I just wanted to share with you.
I want to say I got all kinds of cards, flowers, and letters this Christmas and I want you to know that the thought you had for us was a blessing. Thank you for taking time to make our Christmas great.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed the blog and I hope you will keep coming back. We have had many new visitors and we appreciate each one. I appreciate the people who come in each day and read my ramblings. God bless you have a wonderful day. BTW thanks to all who sent greetings for Kelly’s birthday either on the webpage, by email, at the bottom of the Facebook post, or cards. She appreciated them all.
