November 2017

Today begins a new month and I am sure the weather is going to start getting colder. November is always a hard month for me because it is the month before December which holds Christmas.

I don't like the heat but I like summer better. I can get in where it is cool usually but during the winter months since I lived in Wisconsin I have a hard time keeping warm. When I lived in Wisconsin I was use to the cold all the time but now that I am down here is southern Illinois I have a very hard time with the cold.

I do enjoy the Thanksgiving time of the year. I miss the dinners we had at the church during Thanksgiving. The ladies put on some really nice meals. Elta Barrett from the church made this special corn that I could never get enough of. Usually if there was any left and that was often she would let me take what was left over home. Toward the end of my time at Pleasant View I think she use to make extra so there would be some left for me to take home.

Just thinking about that food makes me hungry. Turkey and dressing and all the fixings can't come soon enough. Mash Potatoes and gravy and the deserts just push me right over the edge.
