Smile and you will feel better. Wipe that frown off your face put a smile in it's place! Today is the day the Lord hath made rejoice and be glad in it.
When I lived in Baraboo, Wisconsin there was this guy who rode around on a riding mower. I think he mowed lawns for people but I don't know as I never saw him mowing a lawn. The one thing I remember about him was that he always had a big smile on his face. I couldn't help and wonder what he was up to. Every time I saw him I would see that big smile on his face and I wondered what he was up to. What made him so happy and why did he have a big smile on his face? I never did solve the mystery and to this day I wonder about this.
If you put a big smile on your face and smile at those you see each day they will wonder what you are up to. I want to challenge you to try this and see what happens.
I like going in a store like Lowes, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart and I smile at people and say hi and I bet they wonder who we are and why we are so happy. If you want to really throw them for a loop look at their name tag and call them by name. They will spend the day thinking about you and wondering who you are.
Several years ago I worked at the Bethalto, Illinois, Ace Hardware. I had this one customer who came in every so often and they would smile at me and call me by my name. For a very long time I wondered who they were and how I knew them. I thought about them all the time after they left and it drove me crazy so one day when they smiled at me and called me by my name I said the them, "Do I know you?" He smiled at me and pointed to my name tag. I ask his name and I got to know him and I have tried this same thing on other people.
So I want to challenge you today. Go out there and smile at people. If they have a name tag on call them by their name and wish them a great day. If you want to really have some fun, find someone who is wearing their work name tag and are shopping or eating at a restaurant. Call them by their name and ask how the family is doing.
Well have a great day! Susan just wanted you to know I was thinking about you today. Don't let the day slip away.
