A Christian's Birth Certificate
A birth certificate is a very important document. It is given at birth and is used for many things. When you first go to school they want to see proof of your birth, when you get a driver’s license, when you join the service, go to college, apply for a Social Security card, and even sometimes when you get married.
When I think about a Christian's birth certificate it ought to contain many of the things that are on your birth certificate. The first thing is a birth certificate is a public record. So our Christian Birth Certificate ought to prove to everyone that we are a Christian. If your walk doesn't measure up to your talk it makes your certificate look phony.
The Christian Birth Certificate is recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life. If your name is not recorded there you have a very serious problem. The Christian Birth Certificate ought to state the place you were born and the date of your birth. The place of our birth is at Calvary where Jesus paid for our sins. The date is the day you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and become the Lord and Savior of your life.
Your Christian Birth Certificate ought to have the name of your Father. Not everyone has God as their Father. Some have let the devil run their lives and they are the children of satan. When we experience the rebirth we become the Child of God and our Father is God.
Your Christian Birth Certificate is signed by the physician who delivered you. Jesus deliver us at Calvary from our sins and paid the full payment for them. He signed it with the blood He shed on the cross.
Lastly your Christian Birth Certificate makes you a citizen of the country you are born in. Our citizenship is in Heaven. Heaven is our home we are just passing through, someday we will be home with Jesus in Heaven.
So what does your Christian Birth Certificate say. Do you even have one? Have you ever been washed in the blood of the lamb. Have you gotten the forgiveness of our Savior? Is Heaven your final destination?
If not it isn't to late to experience the new birth. Jesus is tenderly calling you, will you answer His call?
