The Bible Verse I Chose As My Life Verse

Many years ago I picked a verse to be my life verse. I chose Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” I have found over the years many chose a verse because it was a favorite but when I decided to chose mine I read the Bible seeking a verse that would admonish me each time I read it.

Then I found it as I was reading in Jeremiah. The man who trusts in the Lord and who has hope in the Lord is blessed. If you look beyond that verse it tells you that our hearts are deceitful and wicked. But the Lord can search our hearts and we can allow His convicting power to cleanse our hearts so when he looks at the fruits of our lives He will see that we are bearing fruit according to the fruit of His doings.

It is my prayer that each reader who is reading this today, will make God’s Word the center piece of their life and they will take the words of God’s Word and memorize them. Hide them in your heart and allow them to convict you when you are not pleasing God or producing the type of fruit you should be producing.

Trees, flowers, and all types of plants need water and sunshine to grow. The Bible many times uses the tree or flower to illustrate how the Christian should grow. The Bible, the Church, the fellowship of other Christians, and so on are the water and sunshine that each Christian needs to grow and bear fruit that are according to the fruit of His doings.

Today why not take a little time and water your spiritual life. Read your Bible, pray, fellowship with your Christian brothers and sisters. Allow the spiritual water and sunshine to flow into your life that you might produce the fruit that would please our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
