What Is Really Important To You?

What is really important to you? I don't know about you but each morning I get up and before I begin my day I thank the Lord for all the blessings he has given me. I think sometimes we are quick to ask God for stuff and we are slow to thank Him for the blessings that He gives to us.

I can think of a great number of things I would like the Lord to give me. As you know we had a tree fall on our house. I was a bit discouraged how slow things were moving but God knew what was best. Really what is more pressing is to give Him the glory for keeping us safe. The night of the storm my phone rang at 12:03am and it was a call telling us that a storm was on the way. We turned on the TV and it said we had ten minutes before it arrived in Alton. I am thankful that I got the phone call and was able to wake my family and warn them that the storm was coming. It was high winds and rain and so we had to get away from the windows. I got my two dogs to an area that was safe and we waited the storm out.

It didn't last long as the storm was moving fast. When it hit our area we felt the house shake and we waited for the wind and rain to ease. When it did we went and checked on things and found the damage. At first I was upset but then I thought about how we are safe and that God had protected us. Really we had a lot to be thankful for.

We need to first thank God for His protecting hand and His blessings before we get out our want list. What is really more important when it comes to our daily life? Is it what we want or is it what we need? The Bible tells us that God will supply all our needs. Philippians 4:19 (King James Version KJV) 19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." So if He is going to supply all we need we don't have to worry about that; we can take time to thank Him for what he has done, and is doing, and will do.

God is so good, God is so good, God is so good to me. He loves me so, He loves me so , He loves me so, He's so good to me. He died for me, He died for me, He died for me, He so good to me.

Why don't you stop right now and thank God for His goodness to you? Isn't that what is really important?
